Achieving this precise balance involves regulating the refrigerant flow into the evaporator, based on the evaporator's load and ambient temperatures. This meticulous control not only optimizes refrigeration efficiency but also ensures that no liquid refrigerant enters the suction line, thereby protecting the compressor from potential damage. Compared to systems that use capillary tubes, thermostatic expansion valves deliver substantial energy savings and enhanced performance.

The TE 2 valves, specifically designed for CO2 applications, are not available with internal pressure equalization. These valves are optimized for sub-critical systems and have been enhanced to endure a Maximum Working Pressure (MWP) of 90 bar.
